Go Ahead And Sang The Blues
Brick Fields Music
Album Notes If you love the blues you will love this album which includes some old and familiar blues tunes. The 5 cover tunes that are on this album have been done in such a way that only Brick Fields can do them. We added a couple of our own verses to the old Lightening Hopkins tune "My Starter Won't Start" our own twist to Sister Rosetta's "That's All" and to Randy Newman's "Guilty". "Lottie Day" was a song written by Arkansas singer / songwriter Mike "Burger" Scoggins, who is also my "Rachel Fields" uncle and "Way Of Time" is a beautiful jazz type song written by my favorite female blues singer alive today, Mrs. Karen Carroll. It has been an honor to record all these songs along side our own music. I think you'll hear some Mavis Staple, Rye Cooder, and BB King influence in the album too.
It was a true honor to work with the musicians who took part on this album. International harmonica player, RJ Mischo. International bass player, John Davis, National guitar player from the Cate Brother, Mr. Earl Cate, as well as drummer Johnny Arredondo. The women included in the back ground vocals were Ms. Barabara Raney from Deepwater Reunion, Ms. Jody Andrews, Ms. Rain Equine, Ms. Jennifer Parker, and Ms Carrie Roberts.
Engineered by Dave Singleton and Produced by Charles "Rags' Ragsdale
